WUT cultural heritage group (http://ztrw.mchtr.pw.edu.pl and http://zif.mchtr.pw.edu.pl) is strongly developing methodology, research facilities and infrastructure for 3D imaging in CH sector from more than 15 years constantly cooperating with CH partners (museums, CH institutions). Together with the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów, WUT conducts joint work on the development of documentation techniques and their automation. Thanks to this, the developed solutions can be tested and implemented in conditions in which heritage objects are stored. The initiative of a common research and documentation infrastructure has been developed for several years.
At WUT 4 research labs are focused at Cultural Heritage developments connected with new modalities development, multi-modal acquisition, automation of acquisition and data processing/visualization. Main infrastructures are: 3DMADMAC: 3D scanner with robot arm and software for automation of data acquisition; Multi modal measurement head (structured light 3D geometry, multi-spectral, BRDF); SAPO: Automated 3D scanner for paintings documentation (up to 2m x 2m) with high resolution (up to 10µm) with extendable measurement head; FRAMES: Software for massive 3D data processing with SDK (Software Development Kit).
